| Description | The Couples Record dataset of the Ethiopia Demographic and Health Survey (EDHS) 2024/25 is a specialized dataset that combines information about women and their husbands or partners within the same record. The dataset is structured to support analysis at the couple level, allowing characteristics and responses of both partners to be examined together. The dataset contains a common case identification variable and key survey identification variables, including cluster number, household number, respondent's line number, ultimate area unit, sampling weight, interview date, region, and type of place of residence. The female component of the Couples Record contains information on the woman, including her age, education, literacy, marital and union characteristics, reproductive history, fertility preferences, contraceptive-related information, employment, household characteristics, and socioeconomic conditions. For example, the dataset includes variables describing total children ever born, births during the previous five years and previous year, current pregnancy, number of living children, age at first birth, and other reproductive characteristics. |
