Abstract

Unmatched case-control study design was conducted in Benatsemay district, South Omo Zone, Southern Ethiopia. The dependent variable is measles infection and the independent variables: Socio demographic and socio-economic related factors: (Age, sex, educational status of the mother, occupation of the mother, average monthly income, family size, condition of the house, distance from health facility), Previous history of measles related factors: (Previous measles infection, vaccination history, number of vaccine doses received, contact history, travel history, nutritional status), and knowledge about Mode of Transmission. The source population were all children who has been clinically diagnosed with measles in Benatsemay district for cases while all children who has not been diagnosed with measles in the district for controls. The sample size was 226 clients and simple random sampling technique was used. SPSS software was used for data entry and analysis and the model used was logistic regression. The study period was from November 01 to 30, 2024
