| Abstract | The Anthropometry and Retrospective Mortality survey was implemented in Metta Woreda. In that regard, a Standardized Monitoring and Assessment of Relief and Transitions (SMART) methodology was employed to determine the sample size in the implementation of an anthropometric and mortality survey. Hence, children aged 6-59 months were the target population for the anthropometric parts of the survey. In addition to the two survey tools, household and WASH questionnaires were administered to the households to get qualitative information. Besides, focus group discussion was also conducted among the selected key informants from the community to complement the survey findings. Parallel to that, a two-stage cluster sampling method was used to collect data for Anthropometric and Retrospective Mortality surveys. A total of 3969 peoples and 752 households were considered in both Anthropometry and Mortality for the survey. The findings of the current survey indicated that the prevalence of global acute malnutrition, <-2 z-scores weight for height and/or oedema is estimated at 5.8% (95% CI 4.2-7.8) and severe acute malnutrition,<-3 z-scores weight for height and/or oedema is estimated at 0.2% (95% CI 0.0-1.2). One child was identified with nutritional bilateral oedema. |

| Description | GOAL conducted a standard nutrition survey in the Woreda as an end line to assess the changes in the nutrition, health, and food security situation of the population. The survey was conducted starting from the 1st of November to the 21st of November 2013. To do that, a two-stage cluster sampling method was used to collect data for Anthropometric and Retrospective Mortality surveys. Moreover, a total of 3969 people and 752 households were considered in both Anthropometry and Mortality for the survey. The sample size for the anthropometric and retrospective mortality survey was determined by entering the necessary information into ENA-Beta for SMART, June 2013 software. |
